Rusta salad is an early-type Lollo Rossa leaf lettuce with glossy, dark red, curly, and dense leaves of large volume. The leaves have a highly blistered structure and wavy edges with small, frequent cuts in the top part, giving the plant an attractive appearance. The lettuce head is heavy with a medium-intensity anthocyanin coloration, making it particularly impressive on the fresh produce market and for processing.
This variety is distinguished by high resistance to bolting and leaf edge burn, and it also tolerates low positive temperatures well, allowing year-round cultivation in open and protected ground, including heated professional greenhouses. Rusta possesses high resistance to downy mildew and lettuce leaf aphid, which significantly reduces the risk of disease and improves crop quality.
The variety's yield is about 3.5 kg per square meter, making it profitable for commercial cultivation. Thanks to its resistance and ability to maintain marketable appearance in the field for a long time, Rusta salad is suitable for spring, summer, and autumn cultivation, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield throughout the season.
