Lettuce DUBARED

Genetic Profile and Morphological Features

Developed by the Czech breeding house Semo, the 'Dubared' variety serves as a specialized solution for 'Oak Leaf' type lettuce production. The core strength of this genetic material lies in its high anthocyanin accumulation intensity: the intense red coloration of the rosette remains consistent even under fluctuating light levels, which is crucial for high-end market presentation.

Agronomic Advantages and Practical Application

• Earliness: The short vegetative period allows for accelerated crop rotation, maximizing yield per unit area in both open field and protected environments.
• Phytosanitary Robustness: The inherent genetic resistance to downy mildew (Peronospora) and powdery mildew forms the foundation of the crop's productivity. This significantly reduces reliance on fungicides, ensuring a cleaner product with lower residue profiles.
• Rosette Architecture: The average weight and tight leaf structure are optimized for packaging requirements, preventing premature wilting and physical damage during logistics.

Technically, the 'Dubared' variety is engineered to meet strict professional standards. The leaves exhibit the characteristic serrated edges, forming a voluminous yet compact rosette. By balancing rapid growth cycles with strong disease resistance, Semo has provided growers with a predictable, high-yielding tool that maintains excellent shelf-life and aesthetic appeal throughout the supply chain.
