Satine lettuce — an early semi-leaf lettuce type of Lollo Rossa, developed by the Dutch breeding company Rijk Zwaan. This variety is characterized by its adaptability to growing conditions and high stress resistance, allowing successful cultivation both in open fields and in plastic greenhouses during spring-summer and autumn periods. The vegetative period is approximately 60-75 days, and the weight of one plant reaches 300-450 grams. Satine grows quickly, building a strong leaf mass due to its well-developed root system and high growth energy.
The leaves of this lettuce have a rich dark red hue with a green base, giving the plant an attractive market appearance. The variety is highly productive — up to 2.8 to 3.8 kg of product can be harvested per square meter. Satine is resistant to powdery mildew and lettuce aphids, as well as shows resistance to internal leaf scorch, significantly reducing losses during cultivation and transportation. Thanks to these qualities, the lettuce withstands long-distance transportation without deterioration in appearance or taste.
Satine has excellent taste characteristics and high levels of vitamins necessary for human health. It is recommended to plant 14-18 plants per square meter, ensuring regular watering, weed control, and fertilization for optimal growth. This variety is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing, making it a versatile choice for farmers and gardeners.
