Lettuce Roux

Agronomic Profile: ROUGE Variety Performance

When working with the ROUGE variety from La Societa Delle Scienze Umane S.R.L., the first thing you notice is the high level of field reliability. Designed for a late maturity cycle, this variety is an excellent choice for those looking to maintain consistent quality during the shoulder seasons. The visual appeal is a major selling point: the vibrant green leaf base combined with an intense red pigmentation provides a premium look that retailers prefer.

Operational Efficiency and Disease Management

ROUGE stands out due to its robust genetic resistance package:

• Disease Resistance: The inherent resistance to downy mildew and lettuce mosaic virus significantly reduces the frequency of fungicide applications. In late-season production, when humidity often increases and light intensity drops, this trait is a real cost-saver.
• Crop Uniformity: Despite its late maturation, the plant exhibits consistent development. It remains stable under varying environmental conditions, making it easier to predict harvest dates and manage labor requirements effectively.

Maintenance is straightforward; once the irrigation and fertility protocols are set, the crop shows excellent resilience. Even during periods of fluctuating temperatures typical for late cycles, ROUGE maintains its structural integrity and leaf crispness. From the grower's perspective, choosing this seed from La Societa Delle Scienze Umane S.R.L. means minimizing the risk of crop loss to common pathogens while delivering a high-quality product that holds up well during transport and storage.
