Lettuce KALORINA

Late-Season Consistency

When the main lettuce season ends, 'Kalorina' from Syngenta steps in to fill the gap. This is the go-to choice for those who want to supply the market when quality is scarce, ensuring a top-tier product for demanding retailers.

Disease Resistance as a Production Asset

The standout feature of 'Kalorina' is its robust genetic resistance to downy mildew and lettuce mosaic virus. In late-season production, pathogen pressure is typically high, yet this hybrid allows you to significantly reduce the frequency of fungicide applications. This isn't just about saving on chemical costs; it’s about peace of mind knowing your crop won't succumb to common outbreaks during the final growth stages.

Field Performance and Management

• Growth Habits: Being a leaf-type lettuce, it grows in a compact and consistent rosette. The average weight is ideal for standard retail packaging, minimizing the need for heavy sorting during harvest.
• Market Appeal: The vibrant green color is maintained even under temperature fluctuations. The leaves are crisp and show excellent shelf life post-harvest.
• Harvesting: Its late maturity requires careful water management. While 'Kalorina' is resilient, consistent irrigation is key to maximizing plant mass and quality.

You know exactly what you’ll be harvesting, which makes planning the supply chain significantly easier and more profitable.
