Lettuce Katyusha

Consistency in Lettuce Production: Nunhems 'Katusha'

In professional vegetable production, early maturity often comes with risks, but Nunhems 'Katusha' brings a sense of predictability to the field. This Dutch-bred leaf lettuce is engineered for consistency, making it a reliable asset for growers aiming to capture early market windows without sacrificing yield quality.

Field Performance and Management

Managing 'Katusha' is straightforward, provided you stick to basic agronomic practices. From an operator's perspective, the key features include:

• Optimal Growth Habit: The plant forms a dense, green leaf rosette. Its medium-sized weight makes it ideal for standard tray packaging, simplifying the transition from field to shelf.
• Harvest Uniformity: One of the biggest advantages is the synchronization of maturity. The plants develop evenly, which significantly cuts down on labor costs during harvest as you spend less time grading and selecting in the field.
• Post-Harvest Quality: The leaves hold up well against immediate wilting, which is a common pain point for early-season varieties. The result is a high-quality product that maintains its appeal throughout the supply chain.

Nunhems has focused on making 'Katusha' a tool for efficiency. Its ability to maintain a consistent rosette structure under fluctuating conditions means fewer losses during the packing process. Whether you are scaling up or managing smaller greenhouse plots, the durability and reliable performance of this variety provide a solid foundation for your lettuce program.
