Lettuce Katanas

Reliability and Consistency in Butterhead Lettuce

When selecting a variety for professional cultivation, the 'Katanas' hybrid by Rijk Zwaan stands out for its operational efficiency. As a butterhead type, it delivers consistent head mass and uniform sizing, which is essential for streamlined harvesting and post-harvest handling.

Key Operational Advantages

• Disease Resilience: The hybrid shows robust resistance against Fusarium wilt and powdery mildew. This reduces the need for frequent chemical interventions, keeping your input costs lower and your production cycle cleaner.
• Market Readiness: With its mid-term maturity, Katanas fits well into a crop rotation cycle that requires balanced production speed and consistent quality.
• Uniformity: The plants develop uniform rosettes, simplifying the packaging process and reducing waste during sorting.

For growers focusing on high-turnover retail supply, Katanas offers a predictable performance. The plant’s ability to thrive despite typical disease pressures ensures that you maximize the marketable yield per hectare. Choosing this Rijk Zwaan variety means betting on established Dutch breeding standards that focus on both consumer appeal and ease of farm management.
