Vegetable Pea NATIona

Working with 'NATInau' Peas

When working with breeding materials from NUBiP of Ukraine, the adaptability of the crop is immediately apparent. The 'NATInau' variety is a solid choice for farmers who prioritize consistency and predictability in Ukraine's climate.

Harvest and Yield Characteristics

The most striking feature in the field is the fruit geometry. The 'NATInau' variety has a distinct sharp-shaped pod. This design significantly simplifies harvesting: manual picking is gentler on the stems, while mechanical harvesting sees reduced field losses. The uniformity of ripening allows for a single-pass harvest, ensuring a high-quality yield and minimizing post-harvest sorting costs.

Agronomic Notes

• Soil and Seeding: The variety responds well to proper pre-sowing soil preparation and fits perfectly into standard crop rotation cycles used in Ukrainian agricultural enterprises.
• Maintenance: Due to the scientific selection by NUBiP, 'NATInau' demonstrates decent resistance to common regional legume diseases. This helps optimize the frequency of fungicide applications, effectively lowering production costs.
• Yield Potential: When standard agricultural practices are followed, the pod density provides a consistent commodity yield even during drier seasons.

For an agronomist, 'NATInau' acts as a reliable tool for business planning. With minimal management during the vegetative stage, a straightforward protection program, and efficient harvesting, this variety is an optimal solution for both small family farms and large agricultural holdings focusing on the vegetable sector.
