Lettuce FROSTKO RUBY

A Vivid Palette for Commercial Lettuce Production

The 'Morozko Rubinovy' (Ruby Morozko) loose-leaf lettuce is a targeted choice for growers focusing on the premium fresh greens market. The variety is defined by its complex, multi-tonal foliage: a striking transition from deep ruby and intense red to delicate green at the base, making it a high-demand item for culinary professionals.

Practical Applications and Farming Strategy

This variety is valued for its early maturity, allowing producers to capitalize on the initial seasonal market peaks. In a professional operation, it serves several key functions:

• Strategic Harvest Scheduling: Due to its early maturation, 'Morozko Rubinovy' is an excellent candidate for the first wave of green harvest, ensuring higher turnover during early-season demand.
• Catering and Fine Dining: Its visual impact makes it highly sought after for restaurant plating, where the contrast between deep red edges and green hearts adds value to gourmet salads.
• Space Efficiency: The variety handles high-density planting regimes well, maintaining its commercial grade even when grown in tightly spaced rows.

In practice, 'Morozko Rubinovy' performs consistently in controlled environments such as greenhouses and polytunnels. The intensity of its red pigmentation is strictly light-dependent; therefore, providing optimal lighting conditions is the critical agronomic operation that directly influences the final market value of the crop. For farmers aiming to achieve the deepest red hues, light management is the most important factor in the growth cycle.
