Lettuce Florine

Practical insights on growing Florin lettuce

French breeding by Clause is widely recognized for reliability, and the Florin variety is a prime example of this quality. When managing production, the most significant advantage of Florin is its predictability. Its medium maturity cycle is ideal for farmers planning continuous harvesting, allowing for an even workload and consistent market supply.

Cultivation and disease management

One of the main challenges in leafy green production is downy mildew. Florin boasts excellent genetic resistance to this pathogen, which significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications and lowers input costs. The light green color of the leaves makes the harvest look premium, while the average weight of the rosette meets the specific size requirements of modern retail and HoReCa segments.

• Plant Type: Leafy, ensuring easier handling during harvest.
• Resistance: Strong defensive profile against powdery mildew.
• Market Appeal: High-quality, dense rosettes with an appealing light green hue.

Operating a field of Florin requires standard care protocols: consistent irrigation and proper plant spacing are key to achieving a uniform harvest. The variety is remarkably plastic, adapting well to various growing conditions and forgiving minor deviations in technique. It serves as a dependable choice for growers who prioritize a balance between low maintenance and consistent, marketable yield.
