Dabi (Dabi) lettuce is an early-maturing leaf lettuce variety of Lollo Bionda type, developed by the Dutch seed company Enza Zaden. This variety is characterized by high yield and is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under greenhouse conditions. The plant forms a voluminous, dome-shaped rosette with curly, bright green leaves, which have a dense structure and retain their shape well. The weight of one plant is approximately 1 kg, and the maturation period varies from 45 to 60 days depending on growing conditions. The leaves of Dabi lettuce have a characteristic wavy edge, are crisp, juicy, and tender, and are free of bitterness, making them ideal for fresh consumption. The variety is resistant to flowering and leaf yellowing, and also exhibits good resistance to powdery mildew and green leaf aphids, significantly simplifying care and improving crop quality. Thanks to its compact rosette, the lettuce is easy to harvest and transport, which is important for market sales and culinary use. For successful cultivation of Dabi lettuce, sowing should be done from March to October in any non-acidic, well-moistened soil. Additional fertilization is usually unnecessary if planted in previously fertilized soil. Maintaining proper irrigation to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged is a key condition. Dabi lettuce is widely used to decorate vegetable, meat, and fish dishes, thanks to its attractive appearance and excellent taste.
