Lettuce CHAMPAGNE

Operating the «Champagne» Lettuce Variety

Working with this buttery head lettuce requires no extraordinary skills, as predictability is its core asset. For an operator, this variety offers a reliable lifecycle: its medium maturity allows for efficient scheduling of produce supply without the risk of the rapid over-maturation often seen in shorter-season crops.

Crop Management and Maintenance

«Champagne» comes with a built-in defense system thanks to the selection work of VNIISSOK and Gavrish. Its resistance to downy mildew and lettuce mosaic virus significantly lowers operational costs for fungicides and reduces the time spent on crop monitoring. For a farm owner, this means substantial savings on supplies: while other varieties may require constant intervention, «Champagne» holds its own against common field pathogens.

Field Performance

• Plant Type: Buttery head lettuce, forming dense, uniform heads that are easy to pack and transport.
• Weight: Medium-sized, making it highly suitable for both HoReCa and retail sectors.
• Visuals: Intense green foliage that retains marketability long after harvest.

Maintenance is straightforward, focusing on regular irrigation and optimal plant spacing. Because of its resistance to key diseases, you spend fewer resources on crop "repairs" or removing affected plants, which directly boosts the overall profitability of your agricultural unit.
