The Chartreux lettuce is a unique variety with bright green-gold leaves that form a large, vertical, and open rosette with a diameter of about 25 cm. The leaves are dense, slightly curled, fleshy, crisp, and juicy, possessing a pleasant slightly sweet taste. Thanks to its decorative form and rich color, this variety is not only delicious but also becomes a decoration for any garden.
You can start harvesting the lettuce already three weeks after germination, when the leaves reach a length of about 2-5 cm. At this stage, they are especially tender and suitable for preparing microgreens or early salad mixes. Fully mature plants are ready for harvesting 45 days after germination, which allows using the lettuce for both early and main crops.
To extend the harvesting period, it is recommended to cut off the outer layer of leaves, leaving the central part of the rosette. This stimulates the growth of new leaves and increases the productivity of the plant. Chartreux lettuce is excellent for fresh salads and light snacks thanks to its juiciness and slightly sweet taste.
