Description Lishnyanska
Lishnyansky clover is a high-value forage crop widely used in grass mixtures for hay production. It is predominantly found in the Polissia region and low-lying areas of the forest-steppe. The plant is characterized by a taproot system that penetrates the soil shallowly, making it less drought-resistant. The stem is ribbed, creeping along the ground, and additional roots form at its nodes, promoting good rooting and recovery after damage. Leaves are trifoliate, with long petioles, and leaflets are heart-shaped. Flowers are white, arranged in spherical heads, and the fruit is a two- or three-seeded pod. Seeds are small, bright yellow, shiny when fresh, but lose their luster over time and turn reddish. The 1000-seed mass is approximately 0.7 grams. The variety includes such cultivars as Volat, Giant White, Dana, Milo, Predkarpatska 1, Jubilee, and Lishnyansky. Yields reach 24–36 centners per hectare of hay and 80–120 centners of green mass. Clover is intended for growing as green feed and hay. The optimal seeding depth is 1–1.5 cm. The seeding rate for precision seeding is 10 kg per hectare, and for manual seeding — 12 kg per hectare. Fertilizers, such as the Japanese product Clover HX from Sakura, can be used to enhance productivity and improve plant quality. It increases phosphorus bioavailability, promotes vegetative growth, and supplies essential nutrients including free amino acids, peptones, vitamins, micro- and macronutrients. The fertilizer is available as a concentrated suspension and applied via foliar feeding, fertigation, or root soaking. It enhances the organoleptic properties of plants, accelerates fruit ripening, and increases resistance to cracking and deformation, making it beneficial at all growth stages of the crop.
