Smooth brome Rosinka

Engineering design: components and durability

The 'Rosinka' manual sprayer from the Sumy Institute of Agriculture (UAAS) is a classic piston-based tool. Its core element is a working cylinder equipped with a high-resilience elastomer seal. Unlike budget alternatives using brittle plastics, this unit utilizes a polymer blend engineered for resistance against aggressive pesticide and fertilizer compounds. The piston group maintains stable pressure, which is vital for precision treatment of meadow fescue and other forage crops.

Hydraulics and spray pattern

The adjustable nozzle allows for seamless transition between 'jet' and 'fine mist' modes. The geometry of the nozzle outlet is optimized to minimize turbulence, ensuring uniform leaf coverage even at manual operating speeds. This technical design choice eliminates unnecessary chemical waste, making the application process a highly controlled agrotechnical task.

Operational resilience

The assembly is simplified for field-level maintenance: the valve system can be disassembled without specialized tools. The absence of complex electronic components or electric motors ensures durability in dusty and humid environments. The handle mounting assembly is reinforced to prevent play under cyclical pressure cycles. It is the ideal choice for spot treatments of fescue fields where large-scale machinery is neither practical nor accessible.
