Stromok

Potato variety Stromok is a medium-early Ukrainian variety registered in 2013. The maturation period is 70-75 days, allowing for harvest within relatively short timeframes. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe regions, and it adapts well to loamy and chernozem soils. Tubers have an elongated-oval shape of medium size, weighing from 100 to 150 grams, with smooth pink skin and creamy flesh. The tuber eyes are shallow, which facilitates processing and preparation for consumption.

Stromok has a medium starch content — from 15 to 17% — which gives the potato a non-mushy culinary type and excellent taste. Due to this, it is versatile in use and suitable for various culinary purposes. The variety exhibits good resistance to diseases such as potato late blight and potato scab, which contributes to stable yields and reduces losses during storage. Yield varies from 150 to 460 centners per hectare, with approximately 10 tubers forming per plant.

Consumer qualities of potato Stromok are highly appreciated due to its excellent taste and good market appearance. These characteristics make it attractive both for farmers and end consumers. The variety is recommended for cultivation under various agroclimatic conditions in Ukraine, as confirmed by its registration and support from the Institute of Potato Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
