Solokha

The potato variety Soloха is a unique mid-late maturing Ukrainian selection with a maturity period of 105 to 120 days. The tubers have a round-oval or elongated shape and are distinguished by their bright dark-purple skin and flesh, caused by natural anthocyanin pigments resulting from crossing wild African and equatorial varieties. The average weight of tubers is 70–100 grams, with 10 to 15 tubers forming per plant. High starch content (about 20–20.5%) and an unusual nutty flavor make this potato a delicacy, especially delicious when fried.

The Soloха variety stands out for its high antioxidant content, particularly zeaxanthin and lutein carotenoids, which exceed those of ordinary white or yellow-fleshed potatoes by several times. This provides significant health benefits, including immune system strengthening, improved digestive and circulatory system function, and slowing aging processes. The potato is also rich in vitamins C and E, making it an indispensable product for dietary nutrition and prevention of various diseases, especially during winter when fresh vegetables are scarce.

The Soloха variety is resistant to common potato diseases such as late blight and nematodes, contributing to high yields — up to 30–40 tons per hectare. It is suitable for cultivation in all climate zones and exhibits excellent storage characteristics, ensuring prolonged storage without quality loss. Additionally, this variety contains no GMOs and is valued for its ability to remove harmful radionuclides from the body, making it popular not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
