The Cadillac cabbage variety is a medium-late hybrid of cauliflower that is characterized by high frost resistance and can withstand temperatures down to -15 degrees. This allows for harvesting until spring, even when grown in open ground. Plants reach a height of 0.6 to 0.8 meters, and the leaves, which are a rich green color, frilled and curly, form a vertical rosette. The leaves have a medium-intensity waxy coating and slight waviness along the edges, which gives them additional protection and an attractive appearance.
The Cadillac cabbage heads are round-flat, dense, off-white in color with a finely bumpy surface. Their mass reaches about 0.9 kg, and the taste is of excellent quality, making this variety in demand for home cooking. Thanks to the presence of up to 14 covering leaves, the hybrid has high self-covering ability, which allows it to withstand the first frosts well and maintain crop quality during late harvesting. The yield of the variety is approximately 5.8 kg per square meter.
Cadillac cabbage is suitable for marketing in fresh form, short-term storage, and processing. Due to its high protein content, this variety can be classified as a dietary product, which expands its application possibilities in the diet. For seedling cultivation, it is recommended to sow seeds from January, and for open ground planting – from April, which ensures optimal conditions for plant development and obtaining a quality crop.
