Cabbage CONCEPT

Operational insights: Growing 'Concept' Cauliflower

When selecting a hybrid for commercial vegetable farming, the priority is always the predictability of the yield. 'Concept' cauliflower from Enza Limited is a reliable tool for mid-season production. With a maturity window of 80–90 days from transplanting, it fits perfectly into standard production cycles, ensuring a steady harvest flow.

Management and Harvesting

The standout feature of this hybrid is the uniformity of the dome-shaped heads. Weighing in between 1.0 and 2.0 kg, the heads are perfectly sized for standard packing boxes, minimizing damage during transport and handling. Whether you are aiming for the fresh produce market or supplying processing facilities, 'Concept' meets the necessary quality standards.

• Processing viability: The curds remain dense and intact during mechanical trimming, which is essential for freezing operations where yield loss is a key cost factor.
• Field resilience: The plant's foliage provides excellent natural coverage, protecting the head from sunburn and reducing the labor costs associated with manual leaf tying.

Cultural Requirements

The hybrid shows good adaptability to varying field conditions. It holds its quality well even during minor temperature fluctuations, which protects the harvest against late-summer weather spikes. In practice, 'Concept' responds consistently to nitrogen fertigation during the rosette leaf development phase. If you are looking for a variety that avoids internal hollowness and produces a dense, market-ready head, this hybrid is a robust choice for any professional operation.
