Colored cabbage of the Arfak variety is a mid-season hybrid intended for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the spring-summer and summer-autumn periods. The plants have a horizontal rosette of leaves with large gray-green, elliptical, weakly corrugated and wavy-edged leaves. The cabbage heads have an elliptical or rounded shape, are snow-white, partially covered by leaves and differ in medium bumpy texture. The mass of heads varies from 1.5 to 3 kg, with an average weight reaching about 2.5 kg. The variety is characterized by excellent taste and high head density. The Arfak hybrid is distinguished by high yield and plasticity, which allows obtaining stable yields even under unfavorable soil and climatic conditions. The yield is about 4.7 kg per plant. The cabbage adapts well to different growing conditions and has excellent self-covering ability, which helps protect the heads. It is recommended to observe certain agricultural techniques, such as deepening the seedling to the first true leaf, moderate irrigation, and systematic soil loosening to ensure optimal plant growth and development. Arfak cabbage is suitable for all types of processing and is widely used in home cooking due to its high quality and taste characteristics. The maturity period is 68-75 days in summer and about 88 days when grown in spring. The optimal planting density is 30,000–35,000 plants per hectare, which ensures maximum productivity and crop quality. This hybrid is recommended for cultivation in personal subsidiary holdings and for commercial purposes, thanks to its versatility and stability.
