Akkord

Anise Hyssop "Accord" – a compact perennial growing to about 40–70 cm tall, which fits easily into both open gardens and container culture. Bushes with upright stems are covered with small dark pink blossoms that bloom from July to October, creating a spicy aroma reminiscent of a blend of sage, anise, and ginger.

The leaves and young shoots of hyssop have a slightly sweet refreshing scent. In cooking, they are used as seasonings: added to mayonnaise, cottage cheese, fish, salads, pâtés, meat stuffings, and vegetable dishes, but only in small quantities so as not to overpower the flavor. A dried bouquet can be used as aromatic decor in the kitchen.

The plant is also valued for its healing properties: traditionally used for upper respiratory tract diseases, as well as for supporting the cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems. For growing, it is recommended to plant early spring in a greenhouse or in open ground, maintaining an optimal germination temperature of about 18 °C and a sowing depth of 1–1.5 cm. After seedlings appear, the vegetation can be transplanted to a permanent location in May–early June, leaving 70–90 cm between rows and 25–35 cm between plants.

Anise Hyssop "Accord" is easy to grow: cuttings are made at the beginning of flowering, and usually 2–3 cuttings are made during the season. Thanks to its compact growth and aromatic properties, it becomes an excellent background for other plants and a useful addition to any garden or vegetable garden composition.
