God's Gift

The 'God's Gift' date variety is a self-fertile, high-yielding Ukrainian selection with a medium ripening period. The tree is medium-sized, reaching a height of 3.5 to 4 meters, with a dense, rounded canopy. It typically begins fruiting on the 3rd to 4th year after planting. Seedlings are grafted onto virgin date seedlings, ensuring good survival and adaptation to Ukrainian climatic conditions.

The fruits of this variety are large, flat-round in shape, weighing between 150 to 180 grams, with a dark-orange color and bright red blush when fully ripe. The flesh is juicy, sweet, and aromatic, with no tendency to dry out, making the taste especially pleasant. The date has high storability and transportability, making it suitable for both home use and commercial purposes.

The variety is highly cold-resistant: trees can withstand temperatures down to -26°C, and mature trees older than 3 years can endure down to -28°C. It is recommended to plant dates in sunny, wind-protected areas with fertile loamy or sandy-loam soils. During the first years after planting, regular watering and winter protection are necessary in central and northern regions to protect young shoots. Annual sanitary pruning in early spring is performed to shape the canopy and increase yield.
