POLONEZ – an early parthenocarpic hybrid of the pickling cucumber type, featuring high yield and excellent taste qualities. The plant is of a bouquet type, forming 3-5 fruits per node, 10-12 cm in length, with a length-to-diameter ratio of 2.8-2.9:1. The fruits are finely bumpy, dark green in color, with thin skin and aromatic, crisp flesh without bitterness; seeds are absent due to the parthenocarpic nature of the variety.
POLONEZ grows rapidly – the vegetative period is only 42 days. Seeds germinate at temperatures of 18-25 °C within 3-10 days, and the harvest season begins in July and continues until September. The variety is resistant to diseases, has good regeneration, and is not prone to fruit overgrowth or yellowing. Yield reaches 50 t/ha, making it attractive for both home gardens and commercial production.
For growing POLONEZ, open ground, film-covered greenhouses, or glass greenhouses are recommended. Sowing times are April-May in closed ground and May-June in open field. The plant is easy to transport due to the good transportability of the fruits. Due to its characteristics, POLONEZ is suitable for pickling, canning, and fresh consumption, ensuring a stable high-quality yield.
