Hippeastrum Souvenir

A Southern Accent for Your Indoor Garden

The 'Souvenir' Hippeastrum is the result of long-term breeding by the Federal Research Center 'Subtropical Scientific Center of the RAS'. Unlike mass-market Dutch hybrids often optimized for rapid forcing, this variety demonstrates remarkable biological resilience and stable blooming performance in indoor conditions.

Key Specifications and Dimensions

The main strength of 'Souvenir' lies in the scale of its flowering. The diameter of a fully opened bloom ranges from 18 to 22 cm. With proper care, the flower stalk supports 4 to 6 full-sized flowers, creating a stunning 'living bouquet' effect on a single stem. This makes it a preferred choice for those seeking a plant with a bold decorative impact for their interior.

Strengths and Specifics

• Advantages: High resistance to temperature fluctuations and lighting changes, typical of its subtropical breeding background. Exceptional flower size that outperforms many popular commercial counterparts.
• Specifics: Requires a strict dormancy period. Without a 'cold' wintering phase, the plant may prioritize vegetative growth over flowering.

This variety is an optimal choice for collectors who value hardy, predictable plants with a 'southern character' that can brighten up a home during the winter and spring months. 'Souvenir' does not require professional greenhouse conditions and adapts well to apartment living, provided it is placed on a well-lit windowsill.
