Hippeastrum SUNSET WINGS

Domestic breeding excellence: The «Sunset Wings» Hippeastrum

While the market is dominated by Dutch and African hybrids, the work of researchers from the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UFRC RAS) demonstrates the potential for high-quality, localized indoor varieties. The «Sunset Wings» (Krylya Zakata) hybrid represents a rigorous scientific effort focused on adapting the culture to indoor environments in northern latitudes.

Technical Specifications and Market Position

Developed by the UFRC RAS, this plant is engineered for the modern windowsill. With a height of 40–50 cm, the hybrid features a balanced architectural profile that ensures structural integrity without the need for additional stakes or support.

The reputation of this variety is built on blooming reliability rather than mass-market appeal. Unlike imported bulbs subjected to extensive logistics and shipping stress, «Sunset Wings» is bred with specific regional climate considerations in mind, which minimizes the adaptation period following forced blooming.
