Description TRAMINER PINK
Traminer Pink is an old technical grape variety originating from Austria or France and widely cultivated in Western European countries. It belongs to the Western European eco-geographic group of varieties and is distinguished by characteristic morphological features: light green leaves with a reddish-pink tint and dense felted pubescence on the underside, as well as light pink berries with a blue pruina bloom. Leaves are small, stiff, with rounded teeth and cobwebby pubescence, turning yellow in autumn. Bunches of Traminer Pink are small or medium-sized, dense, light pink in color, with herbaceous and short stalks. Berries are round or weakly oval with thick and dense skin, tender and melting flesh, possessing a harmonious taste and subtle varietal aroma with muscat notes. The berry juice is colorless.

This grape variety belongs to the medium or medium-early ripening period and is characterized by medium or weak growth vigor. The plant prefers fertile soils of light and medium mechanical composition, such as leached chernozems, and develops better on southern, southwestern, and western slopes. Poorly tolerates poor and dry soils. For planting, a scheme of 3 x 1.25–1.5 m is recommended using cordon bush forms. The optimal tying form is a high-cordon two-sided horizontal cord with pruning of fruiting canes to 4–6 buds, which promotes free placement of growth.

Traminer Pink is widely used for the production of high-quality vintage table and dessert wines, as well as sparkling wine materials and juices. Due to its high sugar accumulation capacity, the variety allows creating wines with a bright and exquisite aroma, including pink wines with a unique bouquet. A clone of the variety, Gewürztraminer, is distinguished by a more pronounced rose aroma and is used for wines with a rich aromatic profile.
