Bird Cherry RED SEASON

Practical Application and Landscaping

The 'Krasny Sezon' bird cherry, developed by the Central Siberian Botanical Garden SB RAS and the Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources, is a vigorous variety reaching over 4 meters in height. Its wide canopy makes it an excellent choice for windbreaks or structural elements in landscape design, providing both functional utility and seasonal visual appeal.

Agricultural Performance and Harvest

This variety serves a dual purpose: its decorative blossoms significantly enhance the aesthetic value of the plot, while its fruits provide a reliable harvest for diverse applications. The berries, which transition from a rich red to black, offer a distinct sweet and astringent flavor profile.

• Fresh consumption: favored by those who enjoy the specific, tangy, and refreshing taste of high-quality wild-type berries.
• Commercial and home processing: the fruit is highly suitable for jams, preserves, tinctures, and specialized berry wines. Thermal processing effectively balances the natural astringency, yielding complex flavor profiles.

Designed for durability and ease of maintenance, 'Krasny Sezon' is well-suited to various climates. Growers looking for low-maintenance, high-yield solutions will appreciate its resilience. When planning your planting layout, ensure sufficient space for its wide crown to allow the tree to reach its full potential, minimizing the need for intensive pruning or specialized care.
