Description

Early Magarach is a table grape variety characterized by a very early maturity period and high yield. Young shoots have a dark green corona with wine-red edges and are covered with spider-like hairs. Leaves are large, heart-shaped, five-lobed, deeply cut and funnel-shaped, with a bronze tint and weak spider-like hairs on the upper and lower surfaces. One-year-old mature shoots are light brown with dark brown nodes, while the middle lobe of the leaf is less developed compared to the side lobes.

The berries of Early Magarach are large, round or oval, dark blue with a strong waxy bloom. The skin is tough but easily broken, and the flesh is fleshy and juicy with a simple taste. The variety is suitable both for fresh consumption and for technical processing. It grows well on various soil types, including chernozems, clay-stony, slate, alluvial, and carbonate soils.

Despite its high yield and resistance to grey rot, Early Magarach has weak winter hardiness and is not resistant to downy mildew and phylloxera. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to form bushes in the type of a multi-arm spurless fan with a load of 35-40 buds. This variety is an excellent choice for those who value an early harvest of high-quality table grapes.
