The Prikubanskiy grape variety belongs to late-ripening table varieties with vigorous bushes and hermaphroditic flowering type. The plant has large, five-lobed leaves with medium dissection and a hairy pubescence on the lower surface. The upper part of the leaf is smooth and light green, with characteristic open cutouts and sharp teeth. The clusters are cylindro-conical in shape, very large, weighing about 410-420 grams, which ensures high yield of the variety. The berries are large, round, dark purple in color with a depression at the base, fleshy and with a thick, tough skin. The variety is characterized by high yield — on average 12-14 tons per hectare, with maximum figures reaching up to 135 centners per hectare. At the same time, the sugar content of the berries reaches 17 g per 100 cm3, and acidity is about 8 g per dm3, which gives the grape a refreshing taste. Marketability and transportability of fruits are at a high level, which makes the variety attractive for commercial cultivation. The plant is responsive to fertilizers and is recommended to be grown on cordons with a cordon height of 80-100 cm and short pruning of fruit canes to 3-4 buds. Prikubanskiy grapes have resistance to major fungal diseases, such as mildew, powdery mildew, and gray rot, as well as increased frost resistance. For planting, optimal distances of 4.0x2.5 m or 3.5x2.0 m are suitable, and the best rootstocks are considered to be Berlandieri x Riparia Cobber 5BB and SO4. Thanks to its characteristics and qualities, the Prikubanskiy variety is a reliable choice for gardeners and viticulturists seeking high-quality and high-yielding late-ripening grapes.
