Kutlaksiiy Black is an indigenous Crimean grape variety belonging to the eco-geographical group of varieties of the Black Sea basin. It ripens in the third decade of September, which allows its use in the late summer and early autumn periods. The leaves of this variety are of medium size, rounded, five-lobed with moderate hairiness on the underside. The flowers are perfect, which ensures good pollination and crop formation.
Bunches of Kutlaksiiy Black are of medium size, more often cylindro-conic, sometimes conic or branched, and dense. Berries are of medium size, rounded or oval, yellow-green in color with a thin waxy bloom. The pulp is fleshy-juicy and slightly crisp, with a characteristic muscat flavor. The skin of the berries is rough and thick, of medium strength, which makes separation from the pulp difficult. Bush growth is medium, and yield is also at a medium level.
The variety is characterized by good shoot ripening, however, its resistance to fungal diseases is low, which requires careful care and preventive measures. The sugar content of the berry juice is 16-19 g per 100 cm³, and acidity is 4-5 g per dm³, which makes the grape suitable for fresh consumption. Studies on the productivity and quality of the variety confirm its value for breeding and effective use of the genetic resources of Crimean grapes.
