The Crunchy grape variety belongs to early varieties with a ripening period of about 100-105 days, which corresponds to the first half of August. This variety was bred at the Potapenko All-Russian Research Institute of Viticulture and Vinegrowing (VNIIViV) by crossing the Talisman and Muscat Vostorg varieties. The vine ripens well, the flower is perfect, which contributes to stable fruiting. Clusters are of medium size, weighing about 600-700 grams, sometimes larger, with moderate density. Berries are oval in shape, white in color, acquiring an amber tint when ripening in the sun. The average berry weight is 6-7 grams, the flesh is crunchy with a pleasant taste, which is confirmed by a high tasting score - 8.6 points. The variety is characterized by high berry sugar content, reaching 17-20%, with low acidity of 4-6 g/dm3, which makes it particularly attractive for fresh consumption, including therapeutic-dietary nutrition. The potential yield of the bush is very high, as three to four clusters are formed on each shoot, so yield regulation is recommended, leaving no more than one or two clusters per shoot. Bushes have powerful shoot growth, which contributes to good development and fruiting. The Crunchy variety is distinguished by good resistance to diseases: according to preliminary data, resistance to downy mildew is assessed at 2-2.5 points, to powdery mildew - 3-3.5 points, while berries are not affected by gray rot. The winter hardiness of the variety is at the level of -25°C, which allows it to be grown in regions with moderate winters. The grape has high transportability and good storage qualities, which makes it convenient for marketing and long-term storage.
