Citvin grape variety represents a table form with a very early maturation period, achieved by the end of July - beginning of August in southern regions of Russia. This variety is a complex interspecific hybrid, obtained as a result of self-pollination of the Talisman variety and Pavlovsky's selection by Evgeny Georgievich. Bushes exhibit strong growth, above average, with hermaphroditic flowers, which promotes good pollination and formation of large clusters weighing about 480-500 grams. Clusters have a cylinder-conical shape, sometimes with a wing, and moderately loose structure, which facilitates care and harvest collection. Citrin berries are large, weakly egg-shaped, light green or white in color, with an average weight of 7 to 8 grams. The berry skin is thin, medium density, not felt when eating, while the flesh is dense, meaty-juicy and crunchy. The taste is harmonious, without additional aromas, which makes this variety attractive for fresh consumption. Sugar content of the juice varies from 10.7 to 19 g/100 cm3, and acidity is 5-6 g/dm3, which ensures a pleasant balance of sweetness and acidity. Presence of seeds in berries is characteristic of this variety. Citrin differs in high transportability and good resistance to main fungal diseases: increased to mildew and medium to oidium, however, the variety is less resistant to gray mold. Frost resistance of the variety is quite high - bushes withstand frosts up to -22-24 degrees Celsius under the condition of winter cover. Pruning of fruit canes on 6-8 buds is recommended, as well as the use of rootstock RR101-14 for better rooting of cuttings and increasing yield. The variety is suitable for cultivation in amateur and professional vineyards, ensuring stable and quality harvest.
