Academic Avidzba grape variety, also known as Pam'ati Dzeneeva (In Memory of Dzeneeva), is the result of selection by NDIViV Magarach and obtained through hybridization of the forms Podarok Zaporiyaya and Richelieu. This Ukrainian variety is characterized by large cylinder-conical clusters up to 35 cm in length and up to 1200 g in weight, which have a loose structure and branching. The berries are elongated oval, dark blue-black in color, reaching up to 35 mm in length and 15-18 g in weight. The skin is of medium density, firm, but practically imperceptible when consumed, while the flesh is crisp, very dense, and juicy, giving the berries a dessert, harmonious taste with exquisite chocolate and muscat notes. The variety is characterized by a very early ripening period — the productive period is less than 115 days, which allows for harvest collection as early as the first decade of August. Under Ukrainian conditions, technological maturity is reached at a sum of active temperatures of about 2100 °C. Average yield on irrigated plots reaches 20-25 tons per hectare. Academic Avidzba grape possesses high transportability, making it attractive for commercial cultivation and marketing. The variety's frost resistance is at the level of up to -25 °C, ensuring its resistance to frosts in the Ukrainian climate. Regarding fungal diseases such as mildew and oidium, the variety has medium resistance, therefore preventive protective measures are necessary to maintain plant health. The flowers are hermaphroditic, which promotes good pollination and crop formation. Leaves are of medium and large size, strongly lobed with five lobes, have a smooth glossy surface and weak bristly pubescence on the underside.
