Originator — Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Variety distinguishing features. Variety type — contecstum (linked), subvariety — ecaducum (non-shattering yellow-seeded). Seedless (hairy), medium height. Stem usually upright, plant height 80–100 cm, internodes up to the first flower 14–16. Flowers white, two per pedicel. Pods shelling-type, medium-large, slightly curved, blunt apex. Average seed number per pod 4–5, maximum — 7. Seeds round-pressed, smooth surface, pink, with shattering resistance trait.
Agronomic characteristics. Grain use variety, vegetation period 78–83 days. 1000 seed mass 220–250 g. Protein content in seeds 20–22%. Suitable for intercropping with barley, oats and other crops for green mass.
In the competitive variety trial at the V.Ya. Yuryev Institute, the highest yield of the variety was recorded in 2008 and amounted to 4.69 t/ha. According to field qualification tests in the Polissya zone during 2009–2011, the average yield was 2.23 t/ha, with the maximum yield in 2009 — 3.16 t/ha at the Horodenkovsky DSS in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. In the Forest-Steppe zone during 2009–2011, the average yield was 2.62 t/ha, with the maximum yield in 2011 — 4.62 t/ha, obtained in the Man'kovsky DSS in Cherkasy Oblast. In the Steppe zone during 2009–2010, the average yield was 2.47 t/ha, with the maximum yield in 2009 at the Pereyaslavsky DSS — 3.07 t/ha.
In 2010, on the demonstration plot of the Khmelnytsky Institute of Agroengineering, the yield was 3.66 t/ha. In 2012, at the TPF «Intercenter Lux» (Slobodskoy District, Transnistrian Moldavian Republic), the yield of the variety was 4.33 t/ha.
