Description Atanas
Pea variety Atanas was developed by Ukrainian breeders to increase yield and resistance to diseases. This variety is characterized by high productivity and resistance to such diseases as ascochitosis, fusarium, and rust. Light-green seeds contain a high protein content, making them suitable for both food and feed industries. The maturation period ranges from 79 to 87 days, allowing cultivation in various climatic conditions.

Atanas pea is adaptable to various soil-climate zones and has moderate requirements for heat and moisture. The plant is cold-tolerant and can germinate at temperatures as low as 1-2°C, though optimal growth occurs within the range of 12-20°C. Yield and product quality decrease at temperatures above 26°C. Pea requires sufficient moisture, especially during bud formation, flowering, and pod development. Best yields are achieved on fertile soils such as chernozems and cultivated brownish podzolic soils.

Atanas pea is a light-loving crop requiring a long photoperiod for full development. Insufficient light leads to stem elongation, weakening of the root system, and reduced fruit set, negatively affecting yield. Due to its characteristics, the Atanas variety is suitable for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions, ensuring stable and high-quality yields.
