MOTOVSKY

Motovsky is a spring garlic variety grown primarily in the Volga-Vyatsk region of Russia. It is characterized by early maturity and a flowering form. The bulbs of this variety are large, round-flat, with 4-5 dry scales of a reddish-white shade. The average mass of a marketable bulb is about 57 grams, while the mass of one clove reaches 4.7 grams. The garlic taste is semi-sharp, making it versatile for various culinary applications. The yield of the variety reaches 1.8 kg per square meter, indicating its high productivity.

Spring garlic Motovsky is planted in the spring and requires for successful cultivation a sunny plot with fertile soil, as well as proper care and planting. Unlike winter varieties, spring garlic stores well and can retain its qualities until the next season. The bulbs contain up to 30 cloves arranged in a spiral, which facilitates their mechanized division and planting. The flowering nature of the variety contributes to the formation of viable aerial bulbils, which speeds up the reproduction and rehabilitation of planting material.

Studies conducted under conditions of the Northeast of the Non-Black Soil Zone confirmed the prospects of the Motovsky variety. It is characterized by high yield and large bulbs, which exceed the indicators of control samples. In addition, the variety has a rayed direction of cloves, which contributes to an increase in the reproduction coefficient. These qualities make Motovsky a valuable variety for industrial cultivation and breeding work, ensuring a stable and quality garlic harvest.
