Dushes

The garlic variety 'Düshes' is an early-maturing winter type, developed by the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of NAAN. The vegetation period ranges from 85 to 100 days after planting, and with air bulbs, it is 60-80 days. The plant reaches a height of 40-50 cm, forming 8-10 light-green leaves, 2.2-2.5 cm wide and up to 50 cm long. The variety also forms stems up to 90-130 cm tall and air bulbs, which is a characteristic feature of this variety.

The garlic bulbs of 'Düshes' have a round, slightly flattened shape and consist of 4-6 large, evenly arranged cloves covered by 4-5 dry white scales with purple veins. The head diameter reaches 4-6 cm, and the weight is 40-60 grams. The flesh is dense, white, and crunchy, with high pungency, rated 9 out of 10. The variety is distinguished by high yield — with proper agronomic practices, about 9.2 tons of marketable garlic can be harvested per hectare.

'Düshes' is resistant to agricultural diseases, frost-tolerant, and adapted to dry conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of the country. It is recommended for winter planting, allowing for an early harvest. Additionally, the variety has good storage qualities — garlic retains its properties for up to 10 months, ensuring long-term storage and convenience for use in culinary and food industries.
