The Doctor's garlic variety is a medium-maturing winter hardy bulblet variety, developed through long-term selection from the local population of the Sverdlovsk region. The plant is robust, with 7-8 medium-length leaves about 47 cm long and 2 cm wide, covered with a medium-intensity waxy coating. The scape reaches a height of 120 cm and carries large aerial bulbs. The bulb is large, round-flat, very dense, weighing between 100 and 130 grams, consisting of 5-7 large cloves with a simple structure. The wrapper scales have a pink-lilac tint with white stripes, with a count of 4-5, while the leather scales and flesh are cream-colored. The garlic taste is sharp but moderate, making it an excellent addition to various dishes.
The Doctor's variety is distinguished by high yield, reaching 3.38 kg per square meter, as well as winter hardiness and good storage life. Under proper storage conditions, including temperature, light, and humidity control, the garlic maintains its qualities for up to 11 months, allowing use throughout the year. Thanks to the tight fit of light-purple wrapper scales, the bulbs are well protected from external influences.
This garlic variety has high adaptive properties and resistance to fusarium, making it suitable for cultivation in most regions. Its high resistance to diseases and excellent taste qualities make the Doctor's variety in demand among both farmers and home growers.
