Description MOSCOW EARLY
Hazelnut «Moscow Early» is a filbert variety with an early maturity period, usually harvested in mid-August. The bushes have a compact, narrow-pyramidal crown up to 4 m high and low growth vigor, which allows growing them on small areas. Leaves are green, and nut clusters with dark-brown shells easily detach from branches.

The fruit of this variety is characterized by a high nut kernel yield – on average 3–4 kg per plant and up to 800 kg/ha. The kernel is round, slightly elongated, weighs about 2 g, and contains approximately 65% fat, making it one of the most oily varieties. The skin is of medium thickness (about 0.8 mm), and the nut taste is sweetish, tender, with a tasting score of 4.5 points.

«Moscow Early» has high frost resistance: it withstands frosts down to -40 °C and even -46 °C, which allows growing it in various climatic conditions. The variety is self-fertile and at the same time a good pollinator for other filbert varieties thanks to a large number of male inflorescences. Nuts can be stored at room temperature for up to four years without loss of quality.
