Actinidia "Naidezhda" is an early variety of arguta, bred by Ukrainian breeders in 1998. The plant reaches a height of up to 2.5 m and requires sturdy supports to support long shoots. Leaves are rich green, while fruits attract attention with a bright purple color with a bluish bloom, making the bush a decorative element in the garden.
Fruits of the variety have an oval-tapered shape, about 3.5 cm long and 2.2 cm wide. The mass of one fruit ranges from 10 to 12 grams. The skin is thin, and the pulp is juicy, dark purple with a kiwi-like aroma. The taste combines a sweet-sour note and a slight acidity, giving the fruits freshness and tenderness.
"Naidezhda" is characterized by high yield – up to 15–20 kg of fruits from one bush – and frost resistance. The plant withstands temperatures up to -30 °C (or -25 °C without shelter), allowing harvest collection by the end of September–early October, even under harsh climatic conditions. Successful cultivation requires regular watering, feeding, pruning, and a sunny, well-lit location.
