Description SAMARCHANKA
Actinidia Samarchanka is a winter-hardy, medium-sized vine cultivated as a self-pollinating kiwi variety. It features a long, robust structure with strong stems that wrap around supports, allowing the plant to grow up to 3–4 meters tall when mature. The leaves are large, heart-shaped, deep green, and slightly hairy, maintaining their decorative appeal throughout the season. The flowers are white or cream-colored, cup-shaped, attract bees, and bloom in May–June, ensuring a long and abundant flowering period.

Fruits of Samarchanka have an average weight of 3.1 to 3.6 grams, with an olive-green skin featuring light longitudinal stripes. Each berry contains juicy, tart-sweet flesh with a fresh aroma of pineapple and apple. The fruits do not drop and can be stored in a cool place for up to a month. The variety is noted for high yield – approximately 15 tons/hectare, as well as winter hardiness and resistance to diseases and pests.

Self-pollination makes Samarchanka an ideal choice for gardeners who cannot grow separate male and female plants. It is suitable for both open ground and container culture on terraces or balconies. Optimal growth requires fertile, well-drained soil with neutral or slightly acidic pH (5.5–7), along with regular mulching and fertilization with compost and biohumus. In landscape design, Samarchanka is used as a decorative element for arches, trellises, pergolas, and facades, creating a dense green mass that effectively covers areas and adds an exotic touch to the garden.
