Actinidia "NATELLA" is a hybrid variety (A. arguta × A. purpurea) that quickly attracts gardeners' attention with its high yield and ease of cultivation. The plant is a fruiting vine that thrives on suburban plots in the central region. Thanks to its frost resistance, drought tolerance, and resistance to diseases and pests, "NATELLA" adapts easily to various climatic conditions. An adult bush can collect up to 10 kg of fruits per season, with the first berries appearing in early September and ripening continuing until the end of the month, allowing enjoyment of the harvest for a long time.
Actinidia berries have a cylindrical shape, about 2 cm long, and weigh from 10 to 18 g. The skin and pulp are green in color without a bright blush, but upon ripening, a light honey taste and aroma appear. Inside, there is juicy pulp with a high vitamin C content (80–100 mg/100 g), carotene, potassium, zinc, and pectins. Due to low caloric content and rich antioxidant composition, the berries are considered "vitamin bombs," especially beneficial for smokers due to high vitamin E content.
Actinidia cultivation requires a support, but the plant does not require a large amount of water. It responds well to all-around lighting and easily accepts fertilizers. Harvest begins in mid-September and continues until the end of the month; fruits can ripen even during storage. Berries can be eaten fresh, dried, pickled, or used for making jam, jelly, fruit drinks, and liqueurs – with vitamin C content almost unchanged. Thanks to its resistance to low temperatures (down to -28 °C), "NATELLA" is suitable for both central region gardens and colder regions.
