Actinidia 'Ella' is a medium-sized shrub that can reach a length of up to 8 meters with the support of structures such as a fence, gazebo, or wall. The leaves are large, whole, and dark green, up to 10 cm in length, with an egg-shaped blade and a slightly netted-creased surface. The leaf edge is serrated, the tip is pointed, and the base is heart-shaped.
The 'Ella' variety is characterized by high productivity: the average yield per bush is about 4.25 kg. The fruits are cylindrical, elongated berries weighing up to 5.8 g. They are juicy and have a harmonious sweet-and-sour taste with a strawberry-ananas aroma; the juice has a greenish tint. The berries contain 11.2% sugar, 1.2% acid, and a high level of vitamin C (1544 mg/100 g). Due to these properties, the berries are suitable both for fresh consumption and for making desserts.
'Ella' is resistant to diseases and pests, as well as frost-hardy, which allows it to easily survive the winter. The plant is easy to grow and does not require special care conditions, but support is necessary for optimal growth. This makes the variety ideal both as a decorative element of the garden and a reliable source of yield.
