Description Lakomka
Physalis «Lakomka» is an early-maturing, high-yielding variety standing 70–75 cm tall, which is easy to grow in open ground. The fruits are large (65–80 g), yellow, round, and do not crack due to high sugar, pectin, and vitamin C content. Thanks to cold and drought resistance, the plant maintains its yield even under adverse weather conditions, and the fruits set well regardless of the weather.

The yield of the variety ranges from 1.9–2.1 kg per bush or up to 3.5 kg/m², making it attractive for both home consumption and commercial processing. The berry product is perfect for jams, jellies, candied fruits, caviar, pickling, and even freezing. Its sour-sweet taste and high pectin level ensure an excellent consistency of finished products.

For planting, «Lakomka» seeds are sown in seedlings in March–early April or directly into the ground in May, at a depth of 1 cm. When transplanting to a permanent location, plants are arranged in a 70×40 cm scheme after the end of spring frosts (June). Care for the bushes includes loosening, weeding, regular watering, and feeding with mineral fertilizers, which allows maintaining plant health and maximum yield.
