Description KOROLEK
Physalis «Korolek» – an early-maturing variety with fruit ripening 90–95 days after full germination. The plant belongs to non-stemmed, determinant crops: upright, moderately branched, and moderately foliated, with a height of 60–80 cm. Leaves have an inverted-oval shape of medium size, light-green color, smooth surface without bracts.

Fruits are round in shape, with a dense consistency and a mass ranging from 60 to 90 g. Unripe fruits and the calyx are colored in light-green and green shades; upon full ripening, they transition to light-yellow and yellow color. The taste of fresh fruits is sour-sweet, which makes them popular both for direct consumption and for processing.

The variety is characterized by high yield: up to 5 kg of marketable fruits per plant. Key advantages include early maturity, large fruit size, high content of pectin substances, and cold hardiness. Cultivation is carried out in open ground through winter or early spring sowing of seeds directly into the soil or through seedlings. «Korolek» is particularly valued for the production of caviar, jam, marmalade, candied fruit, dry wine, as well as for pickling and marinating.
