Fanat

FANAT is a Gossypium hirsutum L. cotton variety belonging to the spinning group. The plant has a cylindrical shape of medium height; lanceolate leaves are present, gossypol glands are present, but nectar glands are absent. The flower is characterized by cream-colored petals. The boll is of medium size, oval in shape, with a short pedicel and strong opening, which ensures medium raw cotton content (fiber). The mass of one boll is 5.1 g.

The branching characteristics of the variety include medium-length fiber (31 mm) and medium strength (breaking load 31.2 N), fiber type – 3–4. Fiber yield reaches 36.3%, and staple length – 39 mm. Raw cotton yield is 15.8 c/ha, while the share of machine-harvested crops is 93%. Seeds yield 10.1 c/ha and have a mass of 110–120 g per 1000 seeds.

FANAT is recommended for cultivation in zones with a sum of active temperatures not lower than 32000 °C. The vegetation period lasts 116 days (105–110 days according to some data), which allows its use for mechanized harvesting as well as for six-to-seven-time cultivation with three-fold irrigation during the vegetation period. The variety is resistant to sucking pests (spider mite, aphid) and diseases, including verticillium and fusarium wilt, making it a reliable choice for modern agro-production systems.
