Description PILIGRIM
Festulolium – a hybrid forage grass obtained by crossing ryegrass and oat grass. Due to this combination, the plant inherits cold hardiness and a powerful root system from ryegrass, as well as the ability to quickly form dense green mass from oat grass. This makes festulolium particularly valuable for growing in colder regions where traditional grasses may yield less.

The crop is characterized by a high growth rate and short growing season, allowing for rapid achievement of optimal green product mass. The average sowing rate is 25–30 kg/ha, with an expected yield of green mass reaching approximately 666.5 centners per hectare, and seeds – about 10.3 c/ha. Festulolium is often used as a component of forage grass mixtures due to its nutritional composition and good digestibility.

Festulolium belongs to the spikelet type inflorescence, has a semi-erect growth form before and after vernalization. The plant reaches medium height when spikelets emerge, and medium-sized leaves with a wide shape ensure good field coverage. The tetraploid status enhances its resistance to unfavorable conditions and contributes to higher yields compared to diploid analogues.
