Description CAFESE
Festulolium – a perennial forage grass, a hybrid of oatgrass and ryegrass, combining the cold tolerance and strong root development of ryegrass with the high nutritional value and rapid growth of oatgrass. Thanks to this, the plant quickly forms a dense grass cover that retains succulence and protein content throughout the growing season.

The crop is distinguished by high green mass yield – up to 500 centners per hectare – and good adaptability to various soil types and climatic conditions. Festulolium is resistant to frost, drought, and trampling, recovers quickly after mowing, and can be used for several years. Crude protein content reaches 13‑18%, while fiber, vitamins, and minerals make it a valuable feed for cattle, sheep, goats, and horses.

For sowing, seeds germinate at temperatures of +4–6 °C; it is recommended to sow in spring or early autumn on sunny plots with moderately moist soils. Festulolium is widely used for establishing pastures, producing green feed, hay, and haylage – its productivity is maintained for up to 5–7 years, and hay and haylage retain nutritional properties even during long-term storage.
