Description Fest
Festulolum is a hybrid grass obtained by crossing ryegrass and orchardgrass. Thanks to this combination, the plant inherits cold resistance and robust root development from ryegrass, as well as the ability to rapidly form dense green mass from orchardgrass. This makes it particularly valuable for cultivation in cold regions where traditional grasses may yield limited harvest.

Festulolum fodder crop is distinguished by its high content of nutrients: crude protein reaches 10.4%, fiber – 26–28%, and carbohydrates – about 22%. Digestibility of dry matter exceeds 75%, ensuring good palatability for livestock. Green mass yield fluctuates within 200–300 c/ha, while seed yield is 7–8 c/ha. Plant height at heading usually ranges from 100–110 cm, allowing for use as a bulk fodder crop.

Festulolum also finds application in landscape design: its fast-growing and resilience to adverse conditions nature makes the plant ideal for greening empty areas, slopes, and embankments. The sowing rate is 25–30 kg/ha, ensuring dense coverage and effective competition with weeds. Thanks to the combination of high yield, nutritional value, and cold resistance, festulolum becomes a sought-after choice for both agriculture and environmental greening projects.
