Description KALININGRAD VIK
Kalinigrad VIK is a high-quality variety of festulolium obtained through distant hybridization and experimental polyploidy involving perennial ryegrass and reed oat. Thanks to this process, the plant has absorbed the best traits of the original cultures: cold resistance and a powerful rhizome from ryegrass, as well as the ability to form a strong green mass and longevity from oats.

The «VIK» variety is characterized by a high growth rate, which makes its vegetation period very short. It recovers quickly after mowing, has good palatability and digestibility due to a large number of tender shoots. Unlike ryegrass, Kalinigrad VIK is less prone to forming flower spikes in subsequent cuts, which increases its productivity as a fodder crop.

Kalinigrad VIK has excellent frost hardiness and vitality, withstands trampling and drought well. At the same time, some hybrids may have reduced seed productivity or be sterile, so when organizing seed production, these features must be taken into account. The variety is classified as super elite with a yield of about 2000 kg/hectare, which makes it a sought-after choice for farmers seeking maximum efficiency and sustainability of agricultural crops.
